Tragedy strikes again

Many of you may have seen the news of the school collapse this past Friday in a part of Port au Prince  called Petion-ville. How horrible this is. We do not personally know this school, but our hearts break for those involved. It was declared a poorly structured building which caused the collapse. What makes it so horrible is that it was built in a place where no equipment can get in to help dig the debris. The streets are too narrow to get tractors, cranes in. As of today, it is reported that 200+ students are still buried under the debris. I heard this morning that one family lost 7 children!! And we are sure many other families lost more than one child. 

With every tragedy and every catastrophe around the world, our eyes should be lifted up as “our redemption draws near”.

The Wall is completed

The “Nehemiah Wall” project (building a wall around the property) is now completed!! Feels so good to have a bit more security here. After being broken into many times, this makes it a bit more difficult to get and out for a thief.
But we do know “the wall” is not our security, only God is the ultimate fortress.
As they were building the wall, the story of Nehemiah in the Bible, came alive. How he encouraged team work, and the work was accomplished. We had a great mason team, the leader was a great leader and was a good example to his team. He worked almost from sun-up to sun-down.
So we have either locked ourselves in or locked the thieves out.
